Today is our debut performance for three of our newbies, Aishah, Ika and Azlin....Good job to all three of you but I'm sure there's more room for improvement and there's plenty of time for it too. They perform inang pulau kampai, an opening performance for an event conducted by the NP Indian Cultural Club at the Convention Centre.

Apart from them, there were not so newbies, Nadiyah, Liyanna and Sheila....Hmm....You guys know yourself....but hey, this is the first time you guys learn this dance....so ya....again there's room for performance.
Well, we got 2 more months to our next big performance that is Appreciation Night. So I hope we all can impress our alumnis with that performance.

Hey, this is my opinion, hope we could here from our head.
All and all good job!!

To all my dear dancers

Congratulation to all of u, whom have been working so hard for the last 2 months for Dinamis Seni 2008. Aside from our school work n projects, n also our personal commitments, we manage to struggle through n gave the audience, a BIG show! I assume everyone is happy with the end of this production, n wish for a break.

I hope that too, however all of u need to know that we do still have a few upcoming shows from next month onwards, starting with Xperience Poly! in July. Pls take note, and i hope all of us can work this out together.

I'll update u guys again for our next practices. See u soon..

Hey guys

There's an outside performance at Ngee Ann City on 25th of June, Wednesday. Its on the first week after the 2 weeks break. We are needed to perform a fusion dance. Do get back to me asap as i need to get back to the person in charge back soon. Hope to catch this chance for us to get exposed to external performances. See u guys soon during practices.

MLDDS@NJC is having their own drama production on the 5th of April 2008.

Synopsis: This drama speaks of the flaws in our Muslim society now through the eyes of a family who has alot of problems, aka porak peranda.

Hello my dear dancers.

To get this short n sweet. Well, i received an email from Fiza(Head of Sri Nadi's). She states that,

" A representative of MANdai United (Suria's own production) called me today at 6.30pm on 22 March 2008. I didn't get hold of his name because he was speaking in a bullet train speed. He said he wanted our help, both in the Drama department as well as all the departments in MCC (cendikiawan, tarian, etc etc.) "

He needs Dancers and of cos other departments too, for some upcoming events in theatre or in the drama - MANdai United itself. In fact, he also claimed that he's asking other helps from the other Poly's.

So if we're interested, i could send a reply to her. Are you all keen abt this events?

Together we could have some good exposures after Dinamis Seni 2008!

UPCOMING MEETING

Cikgu has requested a meeting with ALL Xpdtari dancers. It will be on 2nd January 2008, Wednesday at Yew Tee CC, 7pm.

There will be no dance practice after that.

I will not accept any last minute cancellation as i have already notified you 1 ENTIRE WEEK IN ADVANCE.

Unless your reason for excuse is a matter of life and death, i would expect you to come down.

Those who are not present may not receive any CCA points for participation in Piala Khatulistiwa 2007.

You have been warned.

With regards to the previous entry, I do no think that i am able to give you the few weeks break that i have promised. Cikgu has told me that we are NOT READY. We still have much to work on.

Those who have NOT yet memorized the steps, PLEASE DO NOT SIT DOWN AND EXPECT PEOPLE TO SPOON FEED YOU. Do something about it. If you see that you have nothing to do, get a friend and practice together. We are now left with 2 weeks. You can still ask either Azhar or me for help after school. We have booked a room specially for extra practices.

Those who have already memorized the steps, DO NOT THINK THAT YOU ARE 100% OKAY. You have yet to perfect your posture, balance and standardizing your steps with others. You are always learning something new everyday, so please accept each other's criticsm to help your dancing better. And also, PLEASE HELP THOSE WHO HAVE NOT MASTERED THE STEPS YET. Azhar and I can only do so much.

Remember the outcome of this performance lies in your enthusiasm and commitment to work together as a team and improve yourself beyond your comfort zone.

Just to let you know,

You have 2 weeks more to learn and improve yourself in the dances you are involved in for Piala Khatulistiwa. If you need more training, contact Azhar or ask me during practices.

Once 3rd December rolls in, i will not accept mistakes that have already been pointed out and corrected in the past few months.

As promised, i will give you guys a few weeks break ONLY if i see effort has been made and if cikgu is satisfied with your dancing.

Work hard people.

XPDtari Hari Raya Outing 2007

As Muslims, we celebrated Hari Raya and visit friends' and families' places. And XPDtari did just that. On the 28th of October 2007, XPDtari had our 3rd outing that is Hari Raya Outing. Even though, not every member tagged along, but most of us did and some of us brought friends and partner along. Well, the more, the merrier...Hahah...In all we covered only 7 houses: Shila's, Nor's, Shukri's, Dhila's, Nisa's, Siti's and lastly Khartini's. We missed out some houses due to lack of time. So, sorry to those people...Yeah....Even though, we were tired till late night...I'm sure we had fun.

XPDtari's Second Outing

Since our first outing can be considered a success, not for our second outing! Out of 16 of us, only 6 can make it. Amirah, Azhar, Nadiyah, Khartini, Shila and myself, Kyle. Our second outing was held at Han River Restaurant, where we break our fast. The was delicious and plenty. In the end, most of us was bloated and full. Even though it was undeniably expensive, I think its worth the price. We had fun and at the same time know more about each other.

After that, we went to Geylang bazaar for a walk. There we met Hajar and her friend and also Afiq, Cikgu's son. At the same time, Amirah, our head, went off as it was late. Haha. (I got a scolding reaching home.)The place was packed with people and not to forget humid and warm but we had fun though. From Geylang, Tini, Shila, Afiq and myself 'lepak' and Bukit Batok. It was fun. To those who didn't go. All I can say is....WASTED.....Haha....

First Performance for the New Members!!

It was held at Tanjong Pagar Community Centre. A total of eight of us performed. That day, we performed Serampang 12, which is the most basic dance in Malay Dance. It was nerve-wrecking for some of us who even cried. Well, tears or not, we bet we impressed and entertained the audience! Kudos people!

XPDtari’s First Outing

I know that this post should be the first post but what to do.... Anyway, lets go back to the past.

It was only the first few weeks of the first semester for the freshies. As usual we recruited new members for XPDtari. The new members kept changing as the first two weeks were kind of trial weeks where these freshies try and feel how the training of the CCA will be and judge for themselves whether they can commit and are strong enough to persevere through the trainings. In the end, a total of eight new members were recruited. Thanks for being with us! So we decided to have an outing, to get to know each other between the new and current members. We went to East Coast Park and had a lot of fun. For food, it was a pot luck thing. Each member brought food from home and share among the rest. We had lots of food such as Nasi Goreng, Roti John, Dadih Milo, Roti Boyan and tidbits. They were simply delicious! Throughout the day, we played treasure hunt, “truth or dare” and Frisbee. Some of us were forfeited for not completing the game and that forfeit was to take photo with cute guys. That forfeit for a person ended up with the whole group of girls taking photos with the same guy! Some of us left early and the rest stayed till evening. At about 8pm, we left East Coast and finally had our dinner at Tampines Mall before separating back to our individual homes. It was a memorable event for us!

This coming 12th October 2007, there is a cultural exchange with Japanese students at our school, around 10 plus in the morning.
